DWM dontwatchme

About

A public record of everyday surveillance.

dontwatchme tracks the automated license plate reader (ALPR) cameras, contracts, and laws shaping American streets — starting with the Flock Safety network — as a credible, sourced, non-partisan civic-transparency resource.

Editorial standards

  • Every published fact is traceable to a named source — a contract, council minutes, an ordinance, a FOIA response, or a named outlet. No claim is published without provenance.
  • Every fact carries an explicit confidence level: confirmed, reported, or community report. When we cannot verify something, we say so.
  • Claims about police or government conduct are stated only when supported by a named, checkable source. This is a defamation-risk area, and we treat it as one.
  • We are independent: this site is not affiliated with any camera vendor, police agency, or advocacy group, and it does not sell advertising.

Corrections policy

Mistakes happen. When one is found, we correct it publicly rather than hide it. A material correction records what changed, when it changed, and why, and links to the new supporting source where applicable. Superseded records are retained so the history of a fact remains visible.

To report an error or challenge a fact, use the tip form or email the contact address in the footer. We review challenges against the underlying sources before deciding whether to correct, update, retain, or remove a record.

What this site is not

dontwatchme is not a store for anything that physically obscures or jams license plates — that is illegal in most states — and it is not a platform for vandalism or harassment. We stay in the lane of informing, tracking, and empowering lawful action: FOIA requests, public comment, and informed local organizing.
